In collaboration with Rogue Ops, a local firearms manufacturer, I was commissioned to create a cel-shaded Cerakote theme for their AR-15 rifle, designed specifically for display at the 2024 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
The Rogue Ops team provided some general direction on colors and overall feel but gave me the creative freedom to bring the vision to life. The goal was to make the rifle look as if it had stepped straight out of a comic book. Using bold contrasts, sharp outlines, and carefully placed highlights, I achieved a cel-shade finish that tricks the eye—making you pause and question whether you’re looking at a real firearm or a cartoon illustration.
This project was both a challenge and an honor, and collaborating with the team at Rogue Ops made it an unforgettable experience. I look forward to future opportunities to push the limits of what’s possible with Cerakote design.
